South Africa
Since 2012 Treasures’ Founder & CEO has been a supporter and volunteer of a charity named Cease Fire in South Africa with a cause and purpose close to her heart. Since then, she has visited often bringing a team of women from the UK with her to share their experiences and get stuck in to helping with the daily life-changing activities on offer to those the charity aims to help.
Over the years, the team has taken the opportunity during their visits to help address various needs, both via personal monetary support and their time and prayers over the years. They have built good relationships with those running the projects and those being helped.
The idea of fundraising through Treasures Foundation began to take seed during the first Lockdown – a time when our own residents needed intense support. Mandy recognises that, for many in recovery, being able to give something back to others is significant.
“Treasures is built on hope and transformation of lives and we teach the women in Treasures homes the gift of reaching out to help and support other people.”
Since this time, our residents, staff and Trustees have been engaged in a range of sponsored activities, to raise funds for projects that help those who are less fortunate.
In 2024 a sister charity was created, Treasures South Africa.

Camp Joy is a residential rehab and Cease Fire is a charity of ex-gang members who mediate with current gangs. The rehab costs £350 for one gang member/ drug addict to access 6 weeks of treatment, to address behaviours and become productive rather than destructive members of society.

We set up a netball tournament in Hanover Park. Initially it was a wary atmosphere as there had been shootings the day before and innocent people had been killed in the crossfire. The gang crime in this area is very high.
